John R. Foley

BIO
Mr. Foley’s practice concentrates primarily on Family Law, with a focus on high conflict cases and those with significant property at issue. Over the course of his practice, Mr. Foley has developed a wealth of practical experience and insight into the emotional, psychological and financial aspects of settling complex custody, parenting time, spousal support and property issues. Mr. Foley is committed to helping men and women resolve their Family Law related issues in a fair and honorable manner, avoiding when possible the emotionally destructive and financially debilitating consequences of litigation.

In addition to representing individual clients, Mr. Foley has served as both a mediator and an arbitrator since 1995. He is widely known for his ability to bring complex and contentious cases to resolution through his alternative dispute resolution practice. Mr. Foley has been a part of family law mediation in this region since its beginnings when he served as a volunteer mediator in the Wayne County Circuit Family Court mediation pilot project at the invitation of the Honorable William Callahan.

Despite his commitments, Mr. Foley still provides pro bono legal services on referral from religious leaders, including priests and imams, in the Dearborn area. He is a past member of the Wayne County Bench/Bar Committee and has served by invitation as a mediator for the Michigan Court of Appeals in Family Law cases.

Patrick A. Foley

Mr. Foley began his career in bankruptcy law, handling civil litigation, primarily creditor representation, fraud litigation, and adversary prosecution and defense work in the context of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies. Mr. Foley’s work also includes comprehensive Trustee representation, predominately in the context of Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Presently, Mr. Foley’s practice focuses on family law and complex civil litigation related to recovery for clients who have been economically or financially injured. Mr. Foley’s corporate practice includes representing small to medium companies and individuals in employment and deal negotiations, and contract review. He also represents individual clients in the areas of asset protection, estate planning, probate matters, and related elder law issues.
In addition to maintaining his legal practice, Mr. Foley is a graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School (2003) and remains active in alumni matters.

Jennifer D. Larson

Attorney since 2009.
Ms. Larson’s practice in New York focused primarily on complex commercial litigation, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and securities litigation, include representing whistleblowers to the Securities & Exchange Commission. After returning to her home state of Michigan, Ms. Larson joined the practice at John R. Foley, P.C. where she assists with litigation strategy across the full spectrum of cases. Ms. Larson’s practice has included appellate work in both state and federal courts.

• Secured a favorable verdict in adversary proceeding between Chapter 11 Debtor and a clearing bank regarding a special purpose account.
• Defeated claims by limited partners in a commercial venture regarding share substitution after a merger and resulting tax claims.

Jesse R. Stec

Attorney since 2017
Mr. Stec is an associate attorney with John R. Foley, PC. He has extensive experience in all areas of family law, including divorce, custody, parenting time, and support disputes.

Mr. Stec regularly assists clients with custodial probate issues and estate planning, including preparing wills, trusts, and deeds. He also counsels clients in financial matters, such as commercial landlord-tenant disputes, real estate transactions, and representing both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy and collection proceedings.
